I grew up hearing about Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all the time, but the name always seemed obscure. What’s a Laker? What does it mean?. Los Angeles is not situated near a lake, unless you’re counting the Pacific Ocean. And even then, shouldn’t they be called the Oceaners? Or the Oceanics? Yeah, that definitely doesn’t have the same ring to it. Read more

KOBE SHAQ BEST DUO EVER?

Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal are the best big-little duo to ever play the game. According to Brett Ballantini of SLAM, based on purely on PER, Shaq and Kobe are the best duo. However when considering other factors like rings, there are better duos like Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar winning five titles over Shaq and Kobe’s three titles. Based on the sheer dominance of Shaq-Kobe, I agree with Ballantini’s argument for the best duo. Had Shaq stayed in Los Angeles, the duo would have added at least 2 or 3 more championship rings to their fingers.
