The best news for the Los Angeles Lakers this week is that Lamar Odom will be back to help defend the championship. It was a long drawn out contract negotiation but now that things are finalized he will be a huge boon for the team. The Lakers are still the best team in the league and looks like they have a superb opportunity to repeat.

Why don’t more teams play full court for 48 minutes? Malcolm Gladwell and Bill Simmons make convincing arguments that teams should utilize this more. The underdogs especially should take advantage of this fact and compensate hunger for talent. More teams could see success if they play full-court consistently. Read more

The Boston Celtics are shoring up the temporary loss of Kevin Garnett with the acquisition of Mikki Moore. But the intrigue lies in the expected pick-up of troubled guard Stephon Marbury. Starbury is expected to be on his best behavior as he plays for a new contract, but who knows how long that will last? The Boston Globe have started a discussion for worried fans here.
GOOD RIDDENS

Who is more free, Stephon Marbury or the New York Knicks? Marbury has the flexibility to move on to a time more willing to tolerate his attitude, while the Knicks are rid of his hefty contract and a black cloud in the locker room - not that he spent much time there this season anyway. It’s the end of an era of mediocrity and controversy.
MAVERICKS HAVE FAITH IN BAREA

The Dallas Mavericks considered adding Stephon Marbury, but backed off after the improved play of their own guard, J.J. Barea. The guard has showed improved play, and owner Mark Cuban told the Dallas Morning News that he was pleased with the player. It’s not like the Mavs would’ve gotten Marbury, who is likely to head to Boston. I would consider it a blessing. Starbury is one headache they don’t need.

Exiled New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury talks to fans on ESPN. There is so much controversy surrounding this guy regarding his situation, but at the end of the day he is a businessman and I applaud his decision to sell $15 Starbury sneakers that everyone can afford.

There has been an awfully large amount of chatter regarding Stephon Marbury’s future destination. The New York Knicks point guard has essentially been banished from the team and there has been no progress in buyout talks. Marbury needs to stop fueling speculation about the Boston Celtics intentions to sign him and work out negotiations with the Knicks before he talks to the press.
MARBURY TO CELTICS?

If New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury can get out his contract with the Knickerbockers, it looks as if he is looking to be reunited with Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett. However, nothing will happen until Starbury and the Knicks can come to a buyout agreement. Will this help Starbury revive his career?
NO SATISFACTION THIS YEAR FOR SOME PLAYERS
December 15, 2008 by Andy Socrates · Leave a Comment
A look at the satisfaction levels of players and fans including Stephon Marbury and Steve Nash. It’s been a tough year for some players with forces out of their own control. Steve Nash has not been himself this year adjusting to Terry Porter’s system and losing some of his best friends to trades.
STARBURY NEEDS TO GO AWAY
If there’s any justice in this world, “Starbury” won’t get another shot at the NBA. Stephon Marbury’s basketball career has been a case study in frustration and the kind of ego-centric and stubbornly immature mentality that can weigh down the greatest potential, talent and ability. His presence on a team has meant explosive scoring, and even a hint of greatness. But ultimately, Marbury’s true personality is poison for a team. His moniker even connotes the kind of mentality he embraces. Read more
