The guy just can’t stay healthy for too long, can he? Tracy McGrady says he will need to undergo microfracture surgery on his ailing left knee. It’s the latest blow to a Houston Rockets team that some pegged to challenge for the Western Conference crown. For T-Mac, this season was his among his least effective. He has been in trade talks and could be shipped to New Jersey for the Nets’ Vince Carter. Athletes who have microfracture surgery have had a mixed history of recoveries.
ROCKETS NEED MCGRADY TO WIN AGAINST WESTERN ELITE

The Houston Rockets have a strong team without Tracy McGrady but it became clear against the Los Angeles Lakers that the Rockets need McGrady to have a chance against the Western elite. His absence was felt as Lakers guard Kobe Bryant took over for the Lakers and willed his team to victory. Superstar McGrady is out for at least two weeks with a sore knee. The question is can he stay healthy this season and make it to the second round of the playoffs for the first time ever.
